Cinnamon roll,What a comfort food!Freshly baked Cinnamony,sweet,fluffy bread.One of the most good thing in home baking is we can adjust it according to our taste;)
These rolls have dark cinnamon flavour with soft and sweet texture.I love to eat cinnamon rolls but cant eat more coz of its dark cinnamon flavour.Here I reduced the amount of cinnamon flavour(for those who don’t like dark flavour) and it taste too good.
Ingredients
4 cups all purpose flour
2 tspns yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 tspn salt
1 egg
3/4 cup warm milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 tspn vanilla essence
For filling
1/3 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbspn cinnamon
For glaze
2 tblspn cream cheese
1 tblsp butter
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tblspn milk
1 tspn vanilla essence
Method
1.In a large bowl mix in dry ingredients and then make a well in center add egg,butter mix then pour milk and water and knead well for a good 8 to 10 minutes.Softer the dough fluffy the bun will be.Let it rest in a warm spot to rise.
2.In a bowl mix together the filling ingredients except butter and keep it aside.
3.When doubled in size ,punch the dough and roll it out onto a floured surface into a big rectangle.
4.spread the soft butter over the top and and sprinkle evenly the cinnamon mixture on top of the butter.Starting form one of the longer side tightly roll the dough into a swiss roll form.cut it evenly into 16 slices and place them in a well buttered tray.Cover and let it rise again for 1 to 2 hours.
5.Preheat your oven to 180 degree.
6.Once risen brush the rolls with butter and bake them for 30 minutes or until golden in colour.
