Soft Dinner Rolls

Soft Dinner Rolls

Pillowy soft dinner rolls or pav bun is on the menu today. There’s something deeply comforting about pulling a tray of golden, fluffy dinner rolls from the oven. The smell of warm yeast and melted butter drifting through the kitchen is pure magic. The best part? You don’t need three separate dough recipes to create variety. With one simple, reliable base dough, you can make three completely different kinds of soft dinner rolls.

Today, I’m sharing my go-to dinner roll dough recipe — the one I use for almost everything. This is the base dough that creates perfectly soft rolls every single time.

In my next post, I’ll be sharing three delicious variations you can make using this same dough. That way, you can master one recipe and turn it into multiple creations — all from a single bowl (and minimal effort!).

Ingredients

  • 3/4th cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 3 cups all purpose flour

For flavoring

  • chilly flakes
  • oregano
  • cilantro

Preparing the Dough

  1. In a bowl dump in all the ingredients mentioned above and bring the dough together.
  2. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until soft, smooth, and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the air and shape and place the equal-sized mini balls on a baking tray. Cover and let it rest until proof.
  5. Egg wash it and bake it @200 degrees preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Once it’s done brush it with butter and cover with a damp cloth.

Now it’s ready to be had with your fav stuffing or with a burger patty,
