Takoyaki

βA Japanese most-loved street food with a tiny touch of mine! I tweaked the flavours to suit our Indian taste buds β and trust me, it turned out so flavorful, comforting, and absolutely delicious!β

I found it so interesting because it actually feels like a polished version of our own paniyaram! π My son insisted I try it, so I ended up making it with whatever ingredients I had at home β and guess what, it turned out amazing!β

βActually, itβs so easy to prepare! Takoyaki is usually made with octopus, but I swapped it with prawns and it worked beautifully. Tako means octopus and yaki means grill β a fun little food fact I learned while making this!β
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup apf
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- water enough to make a flower batter
For the topping sauce
- mayo
- instead of takoyakinsauce I used hot sauce
For filling
- prawns with some salt chilly powder and ginger garlic paste. Shallow fry it or just boil it.
- spring onion chopped
βMix the batter with all the ingredients listed above. Prepare the filling (refer to the video). Add a tablespoon of oil to the paniyaram pan, pour in the batter, add the filling, and top it with a little more batter. Flip immediately to get that perfect round ball shape. I struggled a bit at first, but finally cracked the hack on the last one! πβ
