Fig Surprize in a Creamy Custard.

Fig Surprize in a Creamy Custard.

Something different from creams biscuits and from all those stuffs.Desserts have a crucial roll in party tables right? Here is a very interesting recipe for such a dessert.I made it for a party at my friend’s place and it was a hit.

I think almost all love desserts. Many few like one of my cousin reject desserts!hehe!
Here I made a creamy white custard with milk, milkmaid and heavy cream. Then made a yummy ball out of figs and dates with some biscuits and nuts.I think its simple too !If we use soft dates it will easier to cook and the ball remain soft with pudding! My one friend was asking for the recipe. Here is the recipe for you ;)Recipe of one more pudding coming soon!

Ingredients
For custard

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream/whip cream
  • 1 tin milkmaid
  • 3 to 4 tblspn cornflour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tspn vanilla essence

For Fig Balls

  • 1 cup figs chopped
  • 1/2 cup soft dates
  • 1 tblspn butter
  • 1 tblspn sugar
  • Some Nuts
  • 1 pack Krack Jack biscuits

Method

  1. Mix cornflour in 1/2 cup milk and keep it aside
  2. In a heavy bottom pan mix together milk, cream, milkmaid and bring it to boil .Stir it continuously. When it starts just to boil add the cornflour mix and stir continuously without forming any lumps. It will thicken very fast. When it starts to boil switch off the flame add in vanilla.Custard is ready.
Note :I you don’t want your custard too thick add less amount of cornflour.

For Fig Balls
  1. In a sauce pan add butter then finely chopped fig and dates along with sugar and 1/4 cup water.Let it all cook and become mushy. You will know the consistency that you can roll it out.Add roughly crushed biscuits and nuts in this when its cool enough,If you add the biscuit when its hot it will go soggy. You will not get that bite.
  2. Make small equal size ball out of it and add it in the custard. If need garnish with some caramelized nuts or plain nuts and pistachios.
  3. Set it in the refrigerator and serve it cold.

Dry fruit lovers gonna love it for sure!

Stay tuned for more such recipes!Cakes and Dessert week this will be!

ENJOY!
